Mt. Shasta is one of the greatest peaks in the country for ski mountaineering, I used to visit it every spring. On this trip we started at Bunny Flat but contoured left, eventually to the Shasta-Shastina Saddle. It was extremely windy at the campsite in this photo (tent visible middle-left). We did not climb Shasta itself during this trip due to high winds, but we did climb Shastina, which probably sees 1/100th the ascents that Shasta does.
